At-a-Glance Features Helmut Jahn's UA Terminal

This month's photo contest featured a portion of the United Airlines Terminal at O’Hare International Airport. To be specific, the photo featured Helmut Jahn’s famous neon sculpture located in the tunnel connecting Concourses B and C in Terminal One. Congratulations to all who responded with the correct answer! The winner’s name is posted at www.stc-chicago.org.

As it turns out, the United Airlines Terminal at O’Hare ranks #102 on the American Institute of Architects’ recent list of "America's Favorite Architecture". Interestingly, John C. Portman's Hyatt Regency Atlanta ranks #103 on the list. Those of you who attended the 2009 STC Summit in Atlanta will immediately recognize the hotel’s skylit atrium and glass elevators. You can see a photo of the Hyatt atrium at STC Chicago's Flickr site.
